The company now known as Aussie Biker Tours and Rental was founded by current owners, David and Michelle Pearce. David and Michelle are life long motorcyclists and David has an extensive history within the motorcycle industry as a former franchised motorcycle dealer, motorcycle technician and manufacturer.
The business commenced as a partnership in March 1997 under the original name of Viking Motorcycle Tours and Hire. After 18 months of trading, it was felt that the present "Aussie Biker" name better served and described the purposes of the business. In the year 1999, Aussie Biker Tours and Rental changed from a partnership to a registered company with a new business name of Aussie Biker Tours and Rental Pty Ltd trading as before, as Aussie Biker Tours and Rental. The company ABN is 97 089 710 574.
During the year of 2000, the company added trail bikes to its fleet of road motorcycles and started conducting one and two day guided trail bike beach and bush tours. These tours remained popular for many years with tour participants flying in from all over Australia to enjoy the challenge however, these days, trail riders just rent their bikes and do the ride themselves armed with a map and a sense of adventure!
The business continued to expand its number and range of motorcycles as well as market share for inbound fully independent motorcycle tourists to the point where the business quickly out-grew its first two locations. In January 2003 Aussie Biker relocated into a modern, spacious facility in the holiday resort location of Noosa, Qld with showroom, offices and a fully equipped workshop in-house.
During the latter part of 2004, Aussie Biker expanded into manufacturing motorcycle exhaust systems for Triumph cruiser models. This is an allied area that will continue to expand with new products and services specifically aimed at Triumph cruisers and retro styled motorcycles. During this year the company began importing and distributing related products such as Rivco Products for Triumph cruisers and the renowned Airhawk seat cushion.
August 2007 ? The motorcycle accessory retail shop known as the 'Aussie Biker Shop' opened. Comprising an additional area of 110 sq metres built as a mezzanine floor over the main motorcycle rental showroom, the Aussie Biker Shop is a fully stocked retail outlet selling a full range of motorcycle apparel and accessories. The first fully guided MotoGP tour was run to Phillip Island in 2007.
May 2008 - The Aussie Biker Shop ventures into 'e-commerce' and becomes a fully integrated on-line store continuing to expand its range of products specialising in touring and dual-sport motorcycle products as well as becoming one of the largest stockists of Nolan helmets in Australia.
